The Day After
On Sunday, October 13th at 12:00PM a casual cookout will be held at The Farm, 7315 Lee Road, in Hartford, WI. All are welcome.
Ahhh, Milwaukee. Isn't Milwaukee and Indian name? That's right, Peter. Actually, it's pronounced Mill-e-wah-que, which is Algonquin for "The Good Land"
And what a good land it is. Milwaukee is where Amy was born, where she met Chris 35 years later, and where they fell in love. Have some extra time? Trace their steps by hitting some of their favorite spots:
Mini Bowl at Koz's where, despite having once rolled a perfect 300 game, Chris' chances of winning were crushed harder than Amy crushed the pins
Koz's Mini Bowl
2078 S. 7th St
Eat at Odd Duck, where Amy showed up 30 minutes late for their second date
2352 S. Kinnickinnic Ave
Visit the Milwaukee Art Museum, where Chris took Amy for a romantic Valentine's dinner and they continued their streak of being the very last people to leave the restaurant
Milwaukee Art Museum
700 N. Art Museum Dr
Get drinks on the 23rd floor of The Pfister at Blu, where Amy & Chris had their first fancy date. (fancy attire encouraged)
Blu at the Pfister
424 E. Wisconsin Ave
Drink Beer at Lakefront where Amy & Chris drank IPA's straight from the source. Who knows, maybe you'll even get the same glass?
1872 N. Commerce St
Rent Bublr Bikes and pedal around the city
Get a beer and watch a game at Steny's where somebody once stole Amy & Chris' food while Chris and his friend Jeff held down a belligerent man in the middle of the street who was fighting with the bouncer (actually, maybe avoid this place)
800 S 2nd St
Drink bottomless mimosas or bloody marys and brunch so hard at Amy & Chris' favorite brunch spot
216 S 2nd St
Smoke a cigar and maybe see a ghost at the boo-kiest place in town
422 S 2nd St
Drink ice cream cocktails and stick to the vinyl booths at this dimly-lit cocktail spot stuck in 1962. Their hours are random- if the red light it on, they're open. Hopefully you'll find they are after your first try unlike Amy & Chris
2501 S Delaware Ave
The Man isn't all bad- especially not this one. Eat pizza at Amy & Chris' favorite spot
2597 N. Downer Ave
Drink an Old Fashioned Brandy Sweet with Olives (the way Amy likes it) or Bourbon Sour with Olives (the way Chris likes it) at this sweet former bayview spot
Boone & Crockett
818 S. Water St
Watch the Brewer's in the playoffs (hopefully) and try not to spill a container of mustard on yourself like Chris did on opening day
1 Brewers Way
Have a cocktail at the coolest cocktail bar in the city dating back to 1938. There's no menu- just tell the bartender what you flavors you like and prepare to be amazed. And a little tipsy. Especially if you try Amy's favorite- The Paper Plane
1579 S. 9th St
Eat $1 oysters, drink good beer for cheap, and take in the view during happy hour at Amy and Chris' favorite seafood spot.
550 N. Harbor Dr
Eat what Chris calls the best bar food in town- and he's an authority on the matter
434 S. 2nd St
Eat ramen at the place where Amy & Chris were once shoo-ed out with a mop
Red Light Ramen
1749 Farwell Ave
Grab a beer at the brewery that crowd-sources their recipes and where Amy once embarassed Chris in foosball. No spinning!
505 S. 5th St
Feast on house-made sausage and complain to the manager that Amy & Chris were totally railroaded and should've won the 2017 Halloween costume contest for their Jerry Seinfeld & Elaine Benes costumes
2659 S Kinnickinnic Ave
Take a walk through Humboldt Park where Amy & Chris chill on the hill. You might even catch a glimpse of Milverine
3000 S Howell Ave
Ice skate in Red Arrow Park where Amy and Chris lace up the blades every year
(hopefully you won't be able to do this)
Red Arrow Park
920 N Water St
Not enough? Explore! Drink some beer you've never seen. Talk to someone you don't know. Stop somewhere you've never been. (Just not Steny's) That's living it up in The Good Land how Chris and Amy do.
